The Popular Workout that Destroys Your Health
My colleague and one of my favorite strength athletes Master RKC Max Shank just wrote an awesome blog that has already ruffled a bunch of feathers! For those out there with cardio dreams and extreme dieting practices you have to read this one here. There are better ways to get fit and healthy. Let us know what you think!
The Dying Art of Strength and Conditioning
We love to use technology such as the Push Band and Zepp Apps when necessary at DSP. however, they can never replace the strength and conditioning or sport coach that’s been getting it done in the trenches. In 2016 it seems like everyone has fallen in love with all the cool gadgets out now, but have forgotten the art of coaching.
Another great article from Bryan Mann the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning at the University of Missouri. This is really good!
Pitching Efficiency Training at Dynamic Sport Performance 2016
Today I wanted to share some remarkable results from one of our young athletes. He has worked with us since he was 10 years old and is tearing up not only in baseball, but basketball as well. This is what can happen when you combine an age appropriate speed and strength program with leading edge technical training. This youngster’s pitching mechanics are better than most Pro’s! Check em’ Out!
BTW, he can snatch a 20kg (44lbs.) kettlebell with ease! 😉
Band Resisted Kettlebell Swing – Exercise of the Week
The Exercise of the Week is a Band Resisted Kettlebell Swing, our top exercise for building total body power and vertical jumping ability. It’s great for a number of reasons but mainly because it trains the eccentric (downswing) phase of the Swing. At DSP one of the main goals for our athletes is teaching them how to absorb force, which in turn will help them produce force. The Band Resisted Kettlebell Swing is perfect for just that!
