Hey there!
I’m back with we some very cool footage for you all in the DSP Video Weekly Recap #3!
We had some great training sessions last week! We focused much more on speed and agility work with both our adults and youngsters. They absolutely love that stuff!
This week we’ll be doing more of the same. Speed and Agility mixed in with some plyometrics is a surefire way to get lean and feeling good, fast!
I’ve been adding some into my own training and I can feel a huge difference already! My goal for the Summer, and it’s a tough one, is to run six – 100 meter sprints within a training session.
I’m looking forward to the challenge. First I got to make sure that I can complete six 10 meter sprints! 😉
Speaking of a 100 meter sprint, this past Saturday I made it up to the 36th T.C. Williams Invitational. This is always a great event! All of our athletes dominated, but there was one performance that had me smiling the entire weekend.
Daniel Fox had his first major competition in the 100 meter and he did not disappoint!
He made it to the finals and ran against a senior committed to U.S.C. and his teammate Kai, who happens to be one of the top sprinters in the State.
I have the video of the race for you all thanks to Coach Fox!
In the video you’ll see Daniel finishes third, maybe a step and half behind the winner. Daniel ran an 11.17 which qualified him for the regionals. Coach Fox (his dad) told me that Daniel’s times last year were between 11.6 – 11.8.
For any track and field to drop that much time in a year is rare. The exciting for us and Daniel is that we know he’s going to continue to get faster this year. We’re breaking 11 second this season!
While watching the video remember that he is only a Sophomore. The future is looking very bright for Daniel!
Also, don’t forget to check out the DSP Weekly Video Recap below.
Enjoy!
